Our Fiberglass Roof Ventilator very confirgurable to meet your air movement needs. From a heavy-duty unit with the motor out of the airstream, best suited for applications where severe corrosive elements exist or where the versatility of belt drive is required. To a unit providing an efficient yet economical choice for general ventilation of mildly corrosive atmospheres. This ventilator is not intended for atmospheres where the corrosive concentration is enough to damage the motor. To a design providing complete protection from the elements for exhaust or intake operation.
Series 37: The unit’s fiberglass duct fan and exterior-mounted motor make it well-suited for fume exhaust. Standard sizes are 12 through 60″. Designed for quiet operation, the Series 37 provides lower sound levels in the highest efficiency ranges and is AMCA-certified for sound and air performance.
The resin used on the Series 37 is vinyl ester with antimony oxide added to achieve a Class I flame spread rate of below 25, per ASTM E84 tunnel test standards. Fan construction conforms to ASTM Standard D4167 for fiber-reinforced plastic fans and blowers, when specified.
Series 57: The unit combines the Hartzell ring fan concept with a windband and butterfly dampers. Dampers open automatically when the fan goes on and close weathertight when the fan is shut down. During operation, the force of the discharge air effectively prevents entry of rain or snow. Standard sizes are 28 to 60″, with performance of 7,300 to 51,000 CFM at free air.
The unit’s inlet orifice increases efficiency by minimizing air friction. The windband is designed with the necessary height needed to prevent wind resistance against the operation of the ventilator.
Two semicircular damper lids at the base of the windband are mounted on stainless steel rods, which turn in nylon bearings. These fiberglass lids are very durable and have a longer lid life than steel. An additional dividend is the insulation qualities of the fiberglass, resulting in less heat loss when the unit is idle during winter months.
Series 58: The unit’s belt drive configuration and exterior motor mounting make it the logical choice where corrosive elements exist and protection from weather is essential. Standard sizes are 12 through 60″. A heavy-duty fiberglass panel provides a convenient method of curb mounting.
The fiberglass hood attaches to and is removable from the fan casing. Sizes through 32″ are one-piece construction; sizes 36 through 60″ are two-piece construction. Hinged construction is also available, providing access to the ventilator without complete removal of the hood.
The exterior-mounted motor is out of the airstream. The propeller shaft rotates in two heavy-duty bearings mounted on fiberglass supports taped to the inner shell with “T” reinforcements.
Belts, bearings, sheaves and the shaft are enclosed and protected from the airstream. The drive compartment is located on the negative pressure (suction) side of the propeller, drawing ambient air from outside the fan in and over the belts and bearings, ensuring a contaminant-free drive compartment.
